Zephyr sat at the kitchen table, her sketches once more spread out before her, another paper with various notes on dance steps and music ideas. “Are you going to need material soon?” Chloe asked as she moved around the room.

“Hmm...Probably, maybe...I’m not sure,” the teen returned. “The first performance isn’t until December.” She shifted through the papers before her, “I’m trying to decide if I should match costume to music, or just, you know, go with what I want.”

“Have you decided on a particular song yet?”

The demigoddess scowled slightly, “no.”

Chloe couldn’t help the light laugh that slipped past her lips, “so, what you are saying is, you haven’t a clue as to what you are doing yet.”

“Yeah,” she let out sigh, “pretty much that.”

Setting a hand on her shoulder, Chloe smiled down at her daughter, “you will get it figured out. You will pick out the perfect song, and decide on the right design. It will be beautiful, you will see.”

“Thanks mom,” the teen returned, shuffling through her papers once more.

The woman watched her daughter for another moment, “what happened with the green and gold design?”

“Subtle mom,” a smirk crept onto Zee’s lips, “you could just ask, you know, like a normal person.”

“Whatever do you mean?” The woman replied with a look of mock confusion.

Zephyr couldn’t help the laugh that escaped, “Loki and I are fine,” she punctuated her statement with a nod. “I know what you are going to say, I’ve been spending a lot of time in New York. Which, considering, could put a strain on things, but...” A smile crossed the demigoddess’s lips, “Uncle Bruce walked me down to Central Park the other day, so I could see him,” her fingers absently wrapped around her pendant.

“Uncle Bruce,” Chloe chuckled, shaking her head slightly, “I don’t know how you girls manage it.”

“We’re adorable.” Zephyr returned matter of factly, then pulled the questioned design from one of her notebooks, “and here this is, kept safe and sound.”

Chloe nodded, “and how are the rest of your classes going?”

Blue eyes rolled in response, “fine.

“Just fine?”

“Math is math,” she began in return, “it’s doing math things. Brit Lit is...” she made a noise that indicated she wasn’t overly thrilled at the moment.

“What’s wrong?”

“Beowulf is 3,182 lines of just kill me now,” she replied, “I’m sure it will get better once that story has been banished to the depths of some dark sea.” Letting out a sigh, she continued, “we are focusing on botany this semester, zoology next semester, so plants. Plants are fun. I do have some art and writing I need to get done, but it will happen,” she nodded, “even if I have to tap a sister to get it done.” She slipped her designs back into her notebook, “and dance is contemplating vexing me, but it always does at this stage, plus,” she made a face, “I do need to look into another form of cultural dance. There is a paper due at some point, somewhere along the lines”

“Some point, somewhere?” Zee’s mother raised her brow.

“You know me well enough by now,” Zephyr returned, “I will get it done, turned in, on time. Even if it means being  zombie that day at school.”

“Just don’t stretch yourself too thin,” Chloe smiled at her daughter.

“I won’t,” Zephyr returned, “this is just me being me.”

“And we wouldn’t have you any other way.”

You are surrounded by all sorts of projects. *smiles*  But, like Aunt Chloe said, you will sort it all out & it will be wonderful.  I am so looking forward to seeing you on stage!

Your mom also makes another good point.  I should probably pay more attention to my studies than my social life. *laughs*  Have you thought about college, or do you have other plans after high school?
